Frequently Asked Questions for the Level 2 Course

What is the minimum age for this course? 

16 on day 1


Do I have to have done level 1 to do level 2?

Yes, with one exception:

- you have a PE degree


Do I need to be a good tennis player?

Same skills as level 1, however you need to be able to demonstrate the basic shots.


Do I need an LTA CRB/DBS?

Yes, there are three requirements:

- Have completed level 1

-Be LTA accredited or have a CRB/DBS less than one year old

-1st Aid certificate with the wording 'Emergency First Aid at Work'


How do I get a DBS?

On the LTA website, the application can be done online but you still have to visit a 'checking centre' with proof of identity. This will take a minimum of 6 days. 


How do I obtain a 1st Aid Certificate?

Search LTA website for providers. 


How much does it cost?

£395 for 5 days. 


What are the methods of payment?

- online through paypal

- b.a.c.s transfer

- cheque, payable to The Coach Academy 


Can I pay in instalments?

Yes, please call for advice. 


What does the course qualify me to do?

To work independently with groups, under the umbrella of an Accredited Plus Coach.


What is the assessment process?

Evidence online portfolio, which includes 8 hours work experience with mentor at mini-orange/green tennis and adult beginners. A 25 minute on court assessment (with 25 minute practice on day 4).


Can you help me find a mentor?

Yes, please call for advice. 


What if I fail or miss the on court assessment?

You have two years and two free re-assessments to complete the course.


Can I reserve a place?

Yes, The Coach Academy will hold you a place for 7 days while you organise paperwork and payment.
